“Apitherapy” (hive air therapy) is the name given to the use of bee products in the prevention of disease and the relief of discomfort. Mainly propolis, bee venom, honey and the bee air are used. Sometimes beeswax and the ingestion of pollen and royal jelly are also counted as apitherapy. Apitherapy is widely used in Eastern Europe, South America and Asia.
In the video of the SWR (Landesschau of 10.06.2015) it is explained quite clearly: SWR-Landesschau (of 10.06.2015)

Where is apitherapy offered?
Many beekeepers in Germany now offer apitherapy. In other countries, however, hive air therapy is much more common, as people there have long recognized the healing power of hive air.
As a beekeeper I offer you to inhale hive air at my apiary in 54578 Walsdorf (Eifel). Please contact us for an appointment.
How much does apitherapy cost?
Health is priceless! Bee air therapy is offered by me without a set fee. I think everyone should decide for himself how much he is willing to pay for this service. So decide for yourself if and how much you put into the piggy bank.
The only thing you would need to buy if you don’t already have one is your personal inhalation mask and a tube. You can also buy them from me and just use them again next time. The inhalation mask incl. Hose costs €25 (€12.50 each). For hygienic reasons, each person should use their own mask.
Further information
I can recommend the book “Die Heilkraft der Bienen: Healthy with Apitherapy” (ISBN 395747096X). There you will find more information on this topic.
You are also welcome to ask me questions about it. I look forward to your mail or your call!
